11. Continue coupling the transducer to the calibration block at the 0 mark.
12. Use the [GATE] key to position gate 1 so that the second echo reflection from the
arc of the block is within the gated region.
This reflection should be close to 9 in. (225 mm).
13. Adjust the gain so that the echo amplitude is at approximately 80 %.
A thickness measurement reading appears in large text above the image.
14. Once a steady reading is achieved, choose 1/5 > PA Cal > Depth 2.
The screen freezes and the Enter Value For Thick Standard dialog box appears.
