Managing Phased Array Image Display 263
14.7 Freeze
The freeze function of the EPOCH 1000 Series in phased array mode is similar to the
freeze function in conventional ultrasound mode. For a full description of the freeze
function, refer to section
5.4 on page 104.
In phased array mode, once the display is frozen, you can use the focal law (angle)
selection cursor to select any A-scan from the S-scan image. The raw data from each
A-scan is available in frozen mode. This allows you to apply a variety of instrument
functions to any A-scan from the S-scan image after the [FREEZE] key is activated.
These include:
• Display view mode
Change between all four display views using the 1/5 > PA Display > Screen
parameter.
• Gate movement
• Gain
• Range and delay
•Data logger
•Printing
When Freeze is active, the following parameters cannot be changed/accessed:
•Zero offset
• Range (cannot be increased)
• Pulser/receiver settings other than gain
To disable the freeze function and return to normal operation, press [FREEZE] again.
14.8 Display Grid Modes and Overlays
The phased array mode of the EPOCH 1000 Series offers additional display overlays
to augment the standard grid modes described in section
5.5 on page 105. These
display overlays facilitate interpretation of the S-scan image and its relationship to the
selected A-scan. The special display overlay parameters are available in the Display
setup page accessible by choosing 3/5
> Display Setup > Image Overlay.
