17.4 Calibrating With an Angle Beam Transducer
The procedures of the following sections use an Olympus IIW Type I carbon-steel
calibration block, part number TB7541-1.
To calibrate using an angle beam transducer
1. Follow the initial setup procedure described in section 17.1 on page 275.
2. For this example, open the Beam setup page by choose 1/5 > PA Probe > Beam.
3. Highlight Wedge ID, and then select SA10P-N55S wedge.
4. Verify that the Start Angle is 40° and the End Angle is 70°.
17.4.1 Calibrating the Velocity With an Angle Beam Transducer
To calibrate the velocity with an angle beam transducer
1. Press [RANGE], and then enter an appropriate range for the calibration.
For this example, use 10 in. (250 mm).
2. Select 1/5 > PA Cal > Calibration = CAL Velocity.
3. Press [ANGLE], and then adjust the selected focal law (angle) to 45°.
4. Couple the probe to the test block at the 0 mark.
