Symptom
The signal display is frozen.
Possible cause
3/5 > Meas Setup > Trigger = External or Single. In these modes, the instrument
fires only when an external command is active.
Solution
Select 3/5 > Meas. Setup > Trigger = Internal. If using either the External or the
Single modes, ensure that the external system is activating the firing at the
desired rate.
Symptom
The instrument does not start when pressing the [ON/OFF] power key
(following a software update).
Possible cause
Interrupted, incomplete, or corrupted software update.
Solution
1. Remove the battery from the EPOCH 1000 Series as well as the AC line power.
2. Replace the battery in the EPOCH 1000 Series.
3. Start the unit.
Symptom
The instrument indefinitely stays in the start up process.
Possible cause
Corrupted data.
Solution
Force a hard instrument reset. Refer to section 10.7 on page 192 for the
procedure.
