6 Remote Control – Commands
In the following, all remote-control commands for the Base system and the function groups RF and
Audio will be presented in tabular form with their parameters and the ranges of numerical values. The
chapter is organized as follows:
• Common commands, commands for the base system and the function groups RF and Audio are
presented separately.
• Within the measurement modes, first the general configuration and then the individual measure-
ment groups are described.
An introduction to remote control according to the SCPI standard, the status registers of the CMU, and
the operating concept and measurement control is given in chapter 5.

Common Commands
The common commands are taken from the IEEE 488.2 (IEC 625-2) standard. These commands have
the same effect on different devices. The headers of these commands consist of "*" followed by three
letters. Many common commands are related to the status reporting system which is described in detail
in chapter 5.
