3. Use a 1.5-mm hexagonal wrench to fit and tighten the set screw securing
the magnet to the ion block.
4. Test the polarity of the second magnet by checking that it is attracted to
the outer end of the first magnet in the ion block; turn the magnet
around (end-to-end) if necessary.
5. Repeat steps 1 to 3 to fit the second magnet to the ion block, ensuring
that the polarity is as determined in step 4.
To fit the accelerating voltage lead
Fit and tighten the screw and washer securing the accelerating voltage
lead to the ion block.
Caution: When fitting the second magnet to the ion block, ensure that
the polarity is the same as the first magnet. The overall orientation of
the magnets in the ion block is immaterial.
