17. Open the source and source side lock isolation valves.
18. Install the inner source chamber assembly and, if required, the solids
sample introduction probe.

on page 7-33 and “Inserting the solids sample introduction probe in the
ion source” on page 6-9.
19. Open the GC interface reference inlet and pump valves.
See “The GC interface” on page 6-2.
20. Open the source lock pump valve.
21. Switch on the following MCBs:
• Analyser Fine
• Rotary Pumps:
– Analyser
–Inlets 1
– Source
• Source Fine
22. Using the switch on each fore pump, switch on the fore pumps.
23. Allow the fore pumps to warm up for 5 minutes.
24. If applicable, open the Speedivalve on each fore pump, by turning it fully
counterclockwise, click Vacuum > Monitor.
