Removing the oil pump assembly
1. Remove the oil pump assembly “1”.
Removing the oil filter bracket
1. Remove the oil filter “1”.
2. Remove the oil filter bracket “1”.
Removing the balancer assembly
1. Remove the balancer assembly “1”.
Disassembling the oil pump
1. Remove the oil pump cover “1”, gasket
“2”, outer rotor “3”, inner rotor “4”, and oil
seals “5” and “6”.
Checking the oil pump
1. Check the inner surface of the oil pump
housing. Replace the oil pump assembly
if scratched.
2. Check the gear teeth of the inner rotor
and outer rotor. Replace the oil pump
assembly if the gear teeth are cracked or
worn.
Assembling the oil pump
1. Install new oil seals “1” into the oil pump
housing “2”.
TIP:
Install an oil seal halfway into the oil pump
housing, and then install the other oil seal.
