10.4.2 Preliminary steps
Before replacing a memory module, perform the following steps:
Ê Disable BitLocker functionality as described in section "Disabling BitLocker
functionality" on page 79.
Ê Locate the defective server as described in section "Locating the defective
server" on page 50.
Ê Shut down the defective server as described in section "Shutting down the
server" on page 58.
Ê Disconnect the AC power cord from the system.
Ê Remove the server cover as described in section "Opening the server" on
page 61.
Ê Locate the defective expansion card using the onboard Local Diagnostic
LEDs as described in section "Onboard indicators and controls" on
page 430.
10.4.3 Removing a memory module
Ê Identify the new memory slot using the server management software.
Ê Remove the defective memory module as described in section "Removing
memory modules" on page 239.
10.4.4 Installing a memory module
Ê Installing the new memory module as described in section "Installing
memory modules" on page 236.
