Chapter 9 Inverter Functions
9-2-18
9.2.13 Increasing/Decreasing Frequency Command by Remote Control
 How to increase or decrease the frequency command using an I/O input signal?
 How to increase or decrease the frequency command or PID target value using an external
remote button?
Remote control function ([FUP]/[FDN]/[UDC] input terminal function)
 The remote control function increases or decreases the currently used frequency command
when the "Remote control Speed-UP function [FUP] (27)" or the "Remote control Speed-DOWN
function [FDN] (28)" input terminals is turned on.
 This function is enabled when the frequency command input source is set to one of the
following configurations. It cannot be used in the case of analog inputs or jogging command.
- The "Frequency input source selection [A001]
*1
" is set to "Parameter setting (02)".
- The frequency command input source is a multi-speed operation function.
- The "Frequency input source selection [A001]
*1
" is set to the "Control terminal (01)" and the
"Analog command holding [AHD] (65)" input terminal is on.
 Acceleration/Deceleration time when [FUP]/[FDN] is turned on are according to the settings of
the "Acceleration time 1 setting or monitor [F002]
*1
" and the "Deceleration time 1 setting or
monitor [F003]
*1
".
 If the "FUP/FDN data save enable [C101]" is set to "Save (01)", the frequency command value
adjusted by the [FUP]/[FDN] is saved in the inverter memory when the inverter power is shut off
or when the command input source is switched.
 When the "Remote control speed data clearing [UDC] (29)" input terminal is turned on, the
frequency command value adjusted by the [FUP]/[FDN] is changed back to 0 Hz or the value
originally saved before adjusted by the [FUP]/[FDN] according to the "FUP/FDN [UDC] terminal
mode selection [C104]" setting.
Do not save:
The command frequency increased or decreased
by the [FUP]/[FDN] function is not saved in the
inverter memory when the power is shut off or the
command input source is switched.
Save:
The command frequency increased or decreased
by the [FUP]/[FDN] function is saved in the inverter
memory when the power is shut off or the
command input source is switched.
FUP/FDN [UDC] terminal
mode selection
Saved data:
Returns it to the saved data before [FUP]/[FDN]
adjustment.
Remote control Speed-UP function [FUP]:
When this terminal is turned on, the frequency
command value is increased.
Remote control Speed-DOWN function [FDN]:
When this terminal is turned on, the frequency
command value is decreased.
Remote control Speed data clearing [UDC]:
When this terminal is turned on, the frequency
command value is cleared. When cleared, it returns
to the value set in [C104].
 Do not turn on/off the [FUP]/[FDW] input terminals or operate the JOG dial on the keypad
immediately after the power has been shut off. Doing so may result in the failure to properly save
any frequency commands that were changed.
 When [C101] is set to "Save (01)", even if the [SET] key is not pressed after changing the
frequency command values [A020]
*1
/[A021] to [A035], [F001], and [d001]/[d007] ("Enable
frequency changes through monitor display [b163]" function
*2
) by the JOG dial on the keypad,
the changed values are automatically saved to the inverter memory when the power is shut off.
*1. "2nd-motor control [SET]" target parameter. The second control parameter is also subject to setting.
*2. For details, refer to "9.2.15 Setting Frequency Command on Frequency Monitor".
