Chapter 8 Mandatory Setting for Motor Drive and Test Run
8-1-5
8.1.3 Setting the Motor Specification Label Data to Parameters
 How to set parameters according to the motor?
 How to solve the unstable drive of the motor?
 To control and protect the motor, set the basic parameters of the motor shown in the table
Tbelow.
 Set the motor capacity/number of motor poles/motor rated voltage/base frequency (motor
rated frequency) according to the specifications of the motor (value indicated on the motor
specification label). For the maximum frequency setting, set the highest frequency required.
However, set it so that it does not exceed the specifications for the maximum rotation speed of
the motor.

[H004]
*1
Async. Motor
number of poles
Sets the number of motor poles.
2 to 48 (pole)
*1. "2nd-motor control [SET]" target parameter. The second control parameter is also subject to setting.
Note
Burnout
 Note that if the base frequency is set to less than the rated frequency of the
motor, the motor may burn out. (less than 50/60 Hz for standard induction
motors.)
 Do not set the maximum frequency and motor rated voltage beyond the motor
specifications. Otherwise, motor burnout may result.
DO
 If invereter is initialized, set the basic parameters of the motor again.
Continued use without setting after initialization may cause the motor to burn
out.
 When setting the maximum frequency more than 60 Hz, check with the motor
manufacturer for the maximum allowable frequency.
