Chapter 5 Wire Connection
5-2-2
5.2.2 Wiring the Power Supply and Motor
How to connect the power supply and motor to the inverter?
Connect [R/L1] terminal, [S/L2] terminal and [T/L3] terminal to the AC power supply and [U/T1]
terminal, [V/T2] terminal and [W/T3] terminal to the motor.
Pay attention to the following points when wiring.
Cautions for wiring the main circuit terminals
■ Cautions for Input Power Supply
■ Cautions for the main power input terminal
●Risk of burnout of the motor!!
Do not drive a 200 V class motor with a 400 V class inverter.
The input power supply should be within the following ranges.
200 V class 200 to 240 VAC (allowable fluctuation range +10%/-15%)
400 V class 380 to 480 VAC (allowable fluctuation range +10%/-15%),
Power supply frequency 50 Hz/60 Hz (fluctuation range ±5%) for both 200 V/
400 V classes
● Risk of fire and damage to machine!
For connection between the power supply and the main power input terminal
([R/L1] terminal, [S/L2] terminal, [T/L3] terminal), use the earth-leakage breaker
for protecting the circuit (wiring).
If the protection function of the inverter is activated, there is a possibility that a
failure or an accident is occurring on your system. Connect a magnetic
contactor that shuts off the power supplied to the inverter.
Since the earth-leakage breaker may malfunction due to effects of high
frequency, please use a model with large high-frequency sensitive current
value.
