Chapter 9 Inverter Functions

9.10.4 Preventing Unattended Start at Power-on
How to prevent the motor from suddenly starting to rotate when the inverter power is turned
on?
If the RUN command is already set when power is turned back on, how to stop the inverter
operation as an error?
The unattended start protection function generates a "USP error [E13]" to prevent a sudden start
when the power is turned on while the RUNcommand to the inverter is still on. When using this
function, assign "Unattended start protection [USP]" to the input terminal.
The "USP error [E13]" trip can be released by turning off the RUN command without performing
a reset operation. (Example 1)
When the trip is released while the RUN command is still on, the inverter starts operating.
(Example 2)
When the RUN command is turned on after the power is turned on, the normal operation starts.
(Example 3)
Unlike other types of trips, the "USP Error [E13]" is automatically released when the RUN
command is turned off.
This function judges for up to 1 second after control power is established.
Unattended start protection [USP]:
When the power is turned on while this signal and the
RUN command are also on, a "USP error [E13]" occurs.
