Chapter 9 Inverter Functions
9-7-10
9.7.7 Selecting Stop Operation
 How to perform a free run stop to avoid overvoltage trips from occurring during deceleration
due to significant load inertia?
 How to shut-off output from the inverter immediately as a mechanical brake is used for
stopping?
 Use "STOP mode selection [b091]" to choose either to stop the inverter by decelerating to a
stop according to the deceleration time setting, or by putting the inverter in a free run state by
immediately shutting off inverter output.
 To perform a free run stop using the control circuit terminal input signal, assign "Free run stop
[FRS] (11)" to one of the input terminals.
 If the inverter performs a free run stop, the next startup when an RUN command is input will
follow the selection made for "Restart mode after FRS release [b088]".
 When "Free run stop (01)" is selected for [b091], the inverter output is shut off at the timing
when the RUN command is turned off, and the motor will start idling.
Free run stop [FRS]:
When this signal is turned on, inverter output is shut-
off to perform a free run stop.
