Chapter 15 Tips/FAQ/Troubleshooting
15-2-6
Possible causes and countermeasures
When an error is detected in
the mounted option board, the
inverter trips. For more
information, refer to the
instruction manual for the
mounted option.
Is the option board connected
properly?
→ Check connector fitting.
Is there a mistake in usage?
→ Check the instruction manual for
the option.
Encoder
disconnection
error
When the output frequency is
higher than the "Creep speed
[P015]" and the encoder
detection speed is lower than
the "Minimum frequency
[b082]" and the "Encoder
disconnection timeout [P077]"
(≠0.0) setting time has
elapsed, the inverter trips.
In the case of simple
positioning, this trip also
occurs when the motor
rotation speed becomes less
than the minimum frequency.
Are there any broken or faulty
connections in the encoder wiring?
→ Check the encoder wiring.
Are the parameter settings correct?
→ Increase [P077] and set [P015] to
a higher value.
When the encoder detection
speed exceeds "Maximum
frequency [A004]" ×
"Overspeed detection level
[P026]" (≠0.0) during running,
the inverter trips.
It does not depend on simple
position control or V/f control
with FB.
Are there any broken or faulty
connections in the encoder wiring?
→ Check the encoder wiring.
Are the parameter settings correct?
→ Check "Output frequency setting
or monitor [F001]".
→ Check "Encoder constant [P011]".
Is the actual motor speed higher than
the error detection level?
→ Check the load status.
→ Adjust [P026].
Position control
range error
When the current position
counter exceeds the position
control range specification
([P072] and [P073]) during
simple position control, the
inverter trips.
Is the current position and home
position correct?
→ Check [P072] and [P073].
→ Check [P060] to [P067].
→ Check the home position.
When "STO input operation
selection [b145]" is 02 and
there is a mismatch in the
[ST1]/[ST2] input signal status,
the inverter trips.
Is [ST1]/[ST2] incorrectly input?
→ Check [ST1]/[ST2] input signal
wiring and perform function tests.
Is parameter setting correct?
→ Check the [b145] setting.
STO internal
failure error
*2
When a failure is detected in
the STO input status or in the
safety path inside WJ-C1, the
inverter trips regardless of
[b145] setting.
Is the safety function working
properly?
→ Perform function tests.
Failure in the internal safety path.
→ Repair.
*2. When these errors occur, the reset operation is not accepted. Turn off the power once. If the same error occurs
the next time the power is turned on, there is a possibility of failure. Please contact your supplier or local Hitachi
sales office.
