Connecting the universal IR controller and putting it into operation
1. Open the housing of the universal IR controller by loosening the screw at the bottom.
2. Insert the provided batteries in the battery compartment.
3. Open the menu “Sensors” “Add” and press “Start” in the web interface of the alarm
panel.
4. Keep the Learn button pressed for ten seconds.
Note:
It is only possible to add the universal IR controller within three minutes after the batteries
were inserted. When this time has elapsed, or you want to add the universal IR controller
to another system, remove the batteries and start with step 2.
5. The alarm panel should indicate the universal IR controller within a few seconds. Press
to complete the connecting process.
6. After the successful adding, the ZigBee LED flashes twice.
Range test:
1. Open the alarm panel menu “Sensors” “Range” and press “Start”.
2. Press the learn button.
3. The sensor and the signal strength should be indicated. The higher the indicated
number the better the reception (1-9).
Please note:
If the signal strength at the place of installation is below 4, we advice to use a
ZigBee repeater, since it is normal that the signal strength may fluctuate for 2-3
points, thus, a signal loss is possible.
Learn and test IR signals
To be able to control the appliances with the universal IR controller, the universal IR controller
needs to learn the signals of the appliance’s remote control first. The procedure is described in the
following.
Please do not expose the universal IR controller to direct light or sunlight during the learn
process to prevent malfunctions.
Learn signals:
Start IR learn mode
1. Add the universal IR controller to the alarm panel as described above.
2. Make sure that all DIP switches are “OFF”.
3. Press the IR button for about ten seconds until the IR LED lights up.
4. The IR LED flashes slowly to indicate that the learn mode is active.
