8. Repeat steps 6 on page 282 and 7 on page 282 for the other rail.
9. Tighten the assembly wing nuts on both rail assemblies.
Removing the power cable from the 2145 UPS-1U
You can remove the power cable from the 2145 UPS-1U if you are having problems with the power
supply and suspect that the power cable is defective.
Perform the following steps to remove the power cable:
1. Remove the power from each SAN Volume Controller node. See MAP 5350 in the IBM System Storage
SAN Volume Controller 2145 Troubleshooting Guide for information about removing the power cable
from the SAN Volume Controller.
2. Press and hold the on/off button

until the power light

is extinguished (approximately five
seconds). On some versions of the 2145 UPS-1U, you need a pointed device, such as a screwdriver, to
press the on/off button. The 2145 UPS-1U enters standby mode, with all indicators off. Figure 319 on
page 284 illustrates the front and rear views of the 2145 UPS-1U.
