Controlling How the Terminal Will Operate
The operating parameters let you adjust the way the terminal operates. By customizing
the operating parameters, you can
• set the terminal to automatically shut off after a specified length of time.
• set the terminal to resume applications or restart applications.
• modify bar code data by appending the time.
• modify bar code data by using preambles and postambles.
• enable or disable specific reader commands.
• configure a RAM drive.
• change the volume of the audio signals (beeper and keypad clicker).
• control the display contrast, backlight timeout, and font size.
• enable or disable the keypad clicker and keypad caps lock.
• customize the way the scan module operates by selecting scan ahead data buffering,
type of scanner device, decode security level, scanner timeout value, and trigger
modes.
