Capitalizing All Characters
To type all alphabetic characters as uppercase letters, you can press
before every
letter you type, or you can enable the Caps Lock feature.
To enable Caps Lock
1. Press
. The Function Left icon appears on the terminal’s screen.
2. Press
9
. The Caps Lock icon appears on the terminal’s screen.
3. Type an alphabetic character. The letter appears as an uppercase character on the
terminal’s screen. For example, press
%
to type an uppercase letter F. Caps Lock
remains enabled until you disable it.

To type a lowercase letter with Caps Lock enabled
Press
and an alphabetic character. For example, press
%
to type a lowercase
letter f.
To disable Caps Lock
1. Press
. The Function Left icon appears on the terminal’s screen.
2. Press

. The Caps Lock icon disappears from the terminal’s screen.
3. Type an alphabetic character. The letter appears as a lowercase letter on the
terminal’s screen.
Note: You can also use the Keypad Caps Lock configuration command to enable or
disable Caps Lock on the terminal. For help, see “Keypad Caps Lock” in Chapter 9.
