10.1. Backup Parts
Motor and Drive Unit
We recommend keeping the backup of Motor and Driver Unit for a quick recovery for an
unexpected failure of the System.
Parameter and program data backup
We recommend keeping the note of all parameter settings and programs for an unexpected
failure of the Driver Unit.
◊ Refer to “Appendix 3: How to Back up and Restore the Settings of Parameters and
Programs”.
◊ EDC MegaTerm, application software compatible with Windows
TM
, is available for the
backup. However, the parameters AO (Absolute position scale offset) and MM
(Multi-line mode) must be written down separately.
If the backup with a personal computer is not available, read out the settings by the following
commands and write down the settings on the list provided on the last page of this manual.

10.2. Storing the Parts
Store the Motor, the Cables and the Driver Unit in clean and dry condition. Put a cover on the
Driver Unit to avoid contamination.
