4.Replacement and Adjustment

ï‚· Never remove a used HDD unit from the work site without the consent of the customer (even if it is suspected
to be damaged).
ï‚· The HDD must remain with the customer for disposal or safe keeping.
ï‚· The HDD may contain proprietary or classified (confidential or secret) information. Specifically, the HDD
contains Document Server data and data stored in temporary files created automatically during copy job
sorting and jam recovery. Such data is stored on the HDD in a special format. Normally, this data cannot be
read, but could be possible that the data is recovered with illegal methods.
Reinstallation
ï‚· Explain to the customer that the following information stored on the HDD is lost when the HDD is replaced:
Document Server documents, and Document Server address book.
ï‚· The address book and document server documents (if needed) must be input again.
ï‚· If the customer is using Data Overwrite Security, the Data Encryption feature or the Searchable PDF feature, these
applications must be installed again.
Toner End Sensor
1. Remove the left cover. (Left Cover)
2. Remove the toner end sensor [A].
