8.5.2 Replacing the Television Interface Module
(TIM)
The TIM is the interface module handling communication between
the ACU and the PCM. It provides power to all units, handles
internal modem communication and RX IF. The TIM also provides
power and LO-control signals for the LNB.
The TIM has two LEDs for status and troubleshooting:
Power LED: green or Off
Service LED: green or red
To replace the TIM, do as follows:
1. Open the service hatch by releasing the two latches with Torx
screws.
2. Switch off the power to the antenna on the service switch.
3. Rotate the antenna pedestal so that the TIM faces the service
hatch.
