To add or edit a reference satellite, do as follows:
1. Go to SERVICE > Reference satellites and click New satellite or
Edit next to an existing entry.
2. Enter or edit the fields on the screen.
The Coverage input field contains a list of comma separated
integers. Each integer represents and identifies an area on the
earth's surface. Earth's surface has been divided into 128 fields.
The field identifier of a given position (e.g. the vessel’s current
position) can be determined given a latitude LAT and longitude
LON (it is assumed that -90° <= LAT <= 90° and that -180° <=
LON <= 180):
• First, determine the number B as follows:
If LAT < -30°, then B = 4. Else, if LAT < 0°, then B = 3. Else, if
LAT < 30° then B = 2. Else B = 1.
• The field identifier can now be calculated:
Field identifier = B + 4 * floor(32 * (LON + 180) / 360)
3. Click Apply to save the settings for the reference satellite.
6.3.6 Azimuth adjustment
6.3.6.1 Purpose
Azimuth adjustment compensates for minor drift in the heading
data received from the ship's compass. If enabled, the azimuth
adjustment is performed immediately before starting acquiring the
signal from the satellite selected in the satellite profile. Azimuth
adjustment may slightly increase acquisition time but will highly
reduce the risk of making acquisition on the wrong satellite.
6.3.6.2 Changing the setting for azimuth adjustment (default
on)
Azimuth adjustment is enabled per default. To change the azimuth
adjustment setting, do as follows:
1. Go to the SERVICE > Calibration page.
