Inspection Probe (VIP)
15-1 Introduction
Signal degradation may occur as a result of a dirty or damaged optic
fiber ferrule endface. The Site Master S820E supports an application
that lets you inspect fiber optic terminations, using a Video Inspection
Probe (VIP) such as Anritsu Model G0306A. See Figure 15-1. The
captured image and analysis results help determine if a connector
should be cleaned or replaced. Pass/Fail evaluations are made in
accordance with the IEC61300-3-35 standard. You can also save the
data to file and generate test reports.
