Chapter 15 Tips/FAQ/Troubleshooting
15-4-4
S5: Motor speed does not increase
Estimated cause (s)
Exemplar measures to be taken
Page
Overload restriction function
or overcurrent suppression
function is activated.
The overcurrent suppression function or the overload
restriction function limits the output current by stopping
acceleration or decreasing the output frequency when the
output current exceeds the activation level. It may be
improved by increasing the activation level.
9-9-1
9-9-3
The frequency command is
limited
If the settings of the upper frequency limit and the
maximum frequency are low, it by may be improved by
increasing the setting. When limiting the frequency, use the
upper limiter function rather than the maximum frequency.
9-4-1
The frequency command is
low
"Jogging [JG]" terminal is ON
If there is a high priority frequency command such as
jogging or multi-speed command, the command will be
low. The terminal function and frequency command input
source must be reviewed.
9-2-1
9-2-7
9-2-10
Acceleration time is long
If the acceleration time setting is too long, acceleration
becomes slow. Reduce the acceleration time.
9-3-2
The motor is locked.
If the motor shaft is locked by the brake or something that
obstructs motor rotation (e.g. something is clogged), the
cause must be removed.

S6: Motor rotates in reverse

The wires connected to the
motor are in wrong phase
sequence.
Swapping the two phases of the wiring to the motor
changes the direction of rotation.
-
When operating with the RUN-
key on the keypad, the rotation
direction setting is wrong.
Check the [F004] setting.
9-1-2
When using the 3-wire
function, the input of the [F/R]
input terminal is reversed.
Check the logic of "3-wire Forward/Reverse [F/R]".
9-1-4
9-15-1
In the case of sensorless
vector control, the motor
rotates in reverse momentarily
at the low speed range.
Enable "Reverse prevention selection [b046]".
9-4-3
S7: Output frequency becomes unstable

Inadequate parameters are
used.
Find out the basic parameter settings for the motor and set
them accordingly.
It may be improved by adjustments such as adjusting the
stabilization constant or slightly changing the output
frequency from the power supply frequency.
8-1-5
8-1-13
9-5-10
The load fluctuates
significantly.
Re-examination of capacity of both motor and inverter may
be required.
-
Power supply voltage
fluctuates.
In order to reduce the power supply fluctuation, optional
reactor (DCL or ALI) or the input side noise filter may be
used.
