How to fix noise on iPECS VoIP External MOH and Paging port?
M
Monica NewmanSep 10, 2025
If you're experiencing noise on the External MOH (Music on Hold) and Paging port of your iPECS VoIP system, it could be due to induced noise on the wire between the System and the amplifier. Ensure that a shielded cable is in use as the connection wire between the system and the amplifier. Another potential cause is an excessive input level from the external music source. Decrease the output level of the external music source by using the volume control on the music source.

J
Jennifer BrownAug 26, 2025
If a DKTU on your iPECS Telephone System isn't working, the cause might be a bad extension circuit, a poor connection between the MBU/EMBU/Option boards and the DKT, the distance of DKT and System, or a faulty DKT. To troubleshoot, try the following:
* Exchange the malfunctioning board for one in good working condition.
* Check the connection between the SLT line and DKT on MDF, and fix any mismatching. Repair any broken connection between the System and DKT.
* Check the distance between the MBU/EMBU/ Option boards and the DKT.
* Plug the DKT into another extension port that has been verified as working. If the DKT still does not work properly, replace the DKT.

If your iPECS IP Phone DECT frequently drops calls, it could be due to a base station issue. First, verify the cell-planning of your DECT base stations. Also, ensure the DECT terminal user is within the RF coverage area of the DECT base stations. If you're using multiple WTIBs, confirm that all WTIBs are installed on the same KSU.
