1.3.3.1 General
•
The Low-Voltage Directive applies to all electrical equipment for use with a rated voltage
between 50 V and 1000 V AC and between 75 and 1500 V DC under normal ambient
conditions, except for e.g. the use of electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres and
electrical parts in passenger and goods lifts.
•
The objective of the Low-Voltage Directive is to ensure that only such electrical equipment is
placed on the market which does neither endanger the safety of persons and animals nor the
conservation of material assets.
