14.7 Hydraulic emergency operation as per BGR 159
With this additional equipment, the truck crane is equipped with an hydrau-
lic emergency bleed valve in accordance with BGR 159 (4.2.8). This allows
small loads to be transported in case of emergency, e.g. in the event of an
engine failure.
14.7.1 Operating principle of emergency operation BGR 159
The hydraulic emergency operation BGR 159 enables:
– Emergency operation of the main hoist, derricking gear, and slewing gear
and
– Emergency supply of another truck crane that also has a hydraulic
emergency operation BGR159.
Emergency operation
A transformer (1) serves as a power source for
the crane's hydraulic system. The transformer
is powered by the carrier's hydraulic system
or by the emergency supply of another truck
crane.
The hydraulic circuits are switched via the
valves (3).
The control levers (2) are used to control the
direction of movement and the speed.

Risk of accidents due to improper use!
Use hydraulic emergency operation only to transport small loads in emer-
gencies. Have the malfunction rectified as soon as possible. Crane opera-
tion in hydraulic emergency operation is prohibited since it is not moni-
tored by the RCL.
