CHAPTER 10 A/D CONVERTER
The number of analog input channels of the A/D converter differs depending on the product.
8-pin products:
channels (ANI0, ANI2, ANI3), internal reference voltage
Note 1
(0.815 V (typ.))
10-pin products:
ANI0 to ANI3), internal reference voltage
Note 1
(0.815 V (typ.))
16-pin products:
ANI0 to ANI6), internal reference voltage
Note 1
(0.815 V (typ.))
20-pin products:
ANI0 to ANI10), internal reference voltage
Note 1
(0.815 V (typ.))
Note 1. The internal reference voltage cannot be used for the A/D converter and the comparator simultaneously.
When the internal reference voltage is selected as the target of conversion by the A/D converter, do not set
the internal reference voltage as the reference voltage of the comparator.
10.1 Function of A/D Converter
The A/D converter is used to convert analog input signals into digital values, and is configured to control up to 11
channels of A/D converter analog inputs. 10-bit or 8-bit resolution can also be selected by using the ADTYP bit of A/D
converter mode register 2 (ADM2).
The A/D converter has the following function.
10-bit/8-bit resolution A/D conversion
Following the selection of one analog input channel from among ANI0 to ANI10, software initiates A/D conversion with
10-bit or 8-bit resolution. An A/D conversion end interrupt request signal (INTAD) is generated on completion of A/D
conversion.
The range of operating voltage for the A/D converter is from 2.4 V to 5.5 V.
