When output frequency is less than 5 Hz, the carrier frequency is 2
kHz; When output frequency is 5...10 Hz, the carrier frequency is 4
kHz; When output frequency is more than 10 Hz, the carrier frequen-
cy is the same as customer's setting.
For 0K40...22K0 models, the carrier frequency is 4 kHz for ND mode, 6 kHz for
HD mode by default. With setting parameter C0.05, the carrier frequency can be
modified to an integer value of 1...15 kHz. For models 30K0 and above, the carri-
er frequency is 1...12 kHz with 4 kHz as default for both ND and HD modes. The
relationship between the carrier frequency, heat dissipation, noise level, and
leakage current and interference is shown as below:
Heat dissipation Noise Leakage current and interference
Higher carrier frequency Higher Lower Higher
Lower carrier frequency Lower Higher Lower
Tab. 12-2: Influence of carrier frequency
For derating figures related to carrier frequency, see chapter 6.2.2 "Derating of
Electric Data" on page 25.
To achieve optimized performance, the carrier frequency setting
should follow the equation: [C0.05] ≥ 10 x [E0.08].
With [C0.06] = 1, the carrier frequency can also be changed automatically to
keep the power module temperature within the normal range.
