12.5.6 Resistor Braking
This function is used to obtain an optimized braking performance of the fre-
quency converter in either V/f control mode or SVC control mode.
By default, the resistor braking is disabled. This function can NOT be activated
when the converter is in stop status.
Code Name Setting range Default Min. Attri.

3: Stall overvoltage protection en-
abled, resistor braking enabled

C0.16 Brake chopper duty cycle 1...100 % 100 1 Stop
To use this function, take the following steps:
Step 1: Activate the resistor braking function
Set [C0.25] = '2: Stall overvoltage protection disabled, resistor braking enabled'
or '3: Stall overvoltage protection enabled, resistor braking enabled'.
Step 2: Set the braking point based on model
The default 'Braking start point' is different for 3P 400 VAC and 1P 200 VAC
models, which needs to be adjusted by setting parameter C0.15 'Brake chopper
start voltage' according to the actual situations.
Step 3: Set the duty cycle
Set parameter C0.16 'Brake chopper duty cycle' according to the actual situa-
tions:
When the DC-bus voltage is higher than [C0.15] 'Brake chopper start voltage',
the brake chopper switches On / Off according to the duty [C0.16] 'Brake
chopper duty cycle' with an internal hysteresis.
Excessive low setting of parameter C0.16 'Brake chopper duty cycle' may
bring overvoltage error during braking.
