Routine Operations
These operations are for a machine that has been set up and tested for the desired
production run
1. Perform a safety check and verify all guard doors are closed.
2. Verify product, film, gluing device, and cases are ready for processing.
3. Select the desired recipe to load from the HMI. Detailed instructions
regarding recipes are given in the Operator Controls section.
4. Verify that the Downstream Interlocks are enabled ( “On”) for all of the
baggers and the cartoner. The system will not shut down properly if a
problem occurs when the Downstream Interlock is in the “Off Position.
The Downstream Interlock buttons are located on the Adjustments
screen of each machine.
5. Each machine must be started individually from its local HMI before it will
start producing product.
6. Each machine must be set to Auto mode using its Jog/Auto selector
switch. If an alarm exists on any of the machines, resolve the issue.
7. Press the illuminated green Machine Ready pushbutton to reset the
machine.
8. If the Machine Ready button does not stay lit, there is an alarm condition
present. Correct the alarm condition, refer to the Troubleshooting section
for definitions and solutions. Clear the alarm from the screen, and press
the Machine Ready push-button again.
9. Once all alarms are clear, heating is complete, and peripheral devices
(such as printers) are active, each machine needs to be started using the
flat, green Jog/Run button. This initiates the starting procedure, which
includes all necessary axis home and sync operations.
10. If all required conditions are met, the machine will then begin production.
11. If all required conditions are not met (such as the machine is waiting on
product, material or downstream equipment), the machine will go into
Standby mode.
12. Monitor operations.
