Storage

Storage Conditions
The storage conditions of cartons have a significant impact on processing that
takes place later in a carton machine.
It is recommended to use a climate controlled area to store cartons. If this is not
possible, the pallets together with the cartons packed in outer cartons should
also be wrapped with shrink-wrap foil. To equalize the temperature, the cartons
should also be moved into the packing area one day before they are used in the
cartoning process.
Folding resistance generally decreases significantly with storage time during the
first 100 hours (roughly 4 days). After that, the folding resistance of grooved
cartons increases during storage time.
Sufficiently scoring the carton is the best way to ensure it can be
stored for a relatively long time and it will work well in carton machines.
