Main Drive Chain
Main Drive Chain Base Setting
A base setting adjusts the two driver chains (1) so that the position of the chain
drivers (3) are at the same location on both sides of the machine. Marks are
placed on the carton machine for the individual chains to mark this base setting.
This position is referred to as the mechanical zero point. A base setting is also
used on the carton chain and the discharge conveyor chain.
The mark indicating the base setting for the driver chain (1) is on the holding
carton holding surface (2) at the beginning of the chain.
If one of these two chains is set to its mark, the chain on the other side of
the machine must also be set to theirs. The machine can be set to this
position in jog mode.
A chain driver (3) must be positioned between indentations marked in red. The
front edge of the driver and the second mark must form a line (x) in the direction
of motion. The two driver chains (fixed and variable side) must be in the same
position. If they are not, you can turn the chain’s sprocket by loosening the
screws (4) and adjusting the chain so that the two chains are in the same
position.
