Flap Guides
Flap guides may be broken down into three groups, depending on their purpose:
• The first group of flaps separates the flaps of the flat carton. These flap
guides are located in the carton magazine and immediately after it.
• The second group of flaps bends the cover flaps on the insertion side up
and down. The side flaps are pushed apart and held there by the guides.
On the other side, the side flaps are inserted and held in place by guides.
The cover flaps remain in a straight position until they reach the gluing
station.
• The third group guides the cover flaps after the glue station and closes
them. (These flap guides are shown in the figure below.)
