Bucket Conveyor
Tensioning the Bucket Conveyor Chains
The tension of the bucket conveyors chain is monitored by an inductive proximity
switch. If the tension of the chain deviates too much, the operator is notified via
the control unit. The tensioning mechanism of the chain is located under a cover
at the end of the supply conveyor. There is one tensioning mechanism for each
side. Only one side is monitored.
To tension the chain:
• Loosen the lock nuts.
• Tension the spring with the nut.
• Tighten the lock nut.
The spring is used to maintain the tension on the chains.
Minor expansion in the chain can be compensated for by this spring.
Note: The tension must be the same on both sides.
