Set Up and Adjustments
The following change over guidelines should be used for reference. The following
guide is a checklist for someone who has been trained on this procedure. Detailed
descriptions are contained in the section for the specific area of the machine.
Set Up:
1. Obtain data sheet with dial and scale settings for the specific application (if
available).
2. If previous settings are not available, measure and record the dimensions
of the new carton. Refer to the carton illustration for those locations.
3. Jog the carton machine so that the adjustable bolt under Indicator #17
rotates under the opening. It must be under the hole to be adjusted with a
wrench.
4. Access the Adjustment screen on the HMI. Press the Barrel Loader button
to Disable the Barrel Loader. (This allows the Barrel loader to be rotated
by hand to remove the Barrel Chutes and Barrel Pushers.
5. Use the button on the HMI to raise the Barrel Loader to the upper position.
6. Remove the Barrel Chutes.
7. Remove the Barrel Pushers.
8. Open the Upper Guide Rails (There are 3 to lift up).
9. Remove the Flap Guides from both sides of the cartoner.
10. Move the 3 Upper Guides Rails back down.
Dial Settings:
Now you are ready to adjust the Dial Settings. Note: The order is slightly
varied depending if the carton size is changing to a larger carton or to a
smaller carton. This is because some of the parts of the machine cannot be
moved until a different part is moved first. The following order may need to
be adjusted for individual requirements.
11. Order for adjusting dials and scales to make a smaller carton:
Dial #1, #2, #3, #4 #5, #6, #7, #8, #15, Adjust the Side Rails to match the
Carton (these are not numbered), #13, #10, #13.1 & #14.1, #12,
#17, #20, #21, and finally #19 (at two locations).
12. Order for adjusting dials and scales to make a larger carton:
Dial #15, #1 #2, #3, #4 #5, #6, #7, #8, Adjust the Side Rails to match the
Carton (these are not numbered), #10 & #11, #13 & #14, #13.1 & #14.1,
#12, #17, #20, #21, and finally #19 (#19 has at two locations).
Note: Verify all adjustments are correct prior to running the machine as
incorrect adjustments will cause damage to the machine.
