Drive Belts
Drive Belts Overload Clutch
The drive belts of the driver chain are equipped with an overload clutch. The
clutch is monitored by an inductive proximity switch.
The clutch is engaged whenever the forces on the belt are higher than is
permitted. When the clutch is triggered, a signal from the inductive proximity
switch stops the carton machine immediately. The setting of this switch must be
checked after every change to the drive belts. When the clutch is engaged, the
switch is activated and sends a 24-V signal to the control unit. The distance from
the switch to the clutch should be about 1-2 mm. After there has been an
overload, the clutch can be reset by turning the disk for inserting side flaps.
After any drive belts have been adjusted, the tensions should be rechecked
after they have run for a while.
