Initial Issue
007-703 Tray 1 Empty RAP
The Tray 1 No Paper Sensed signal is detected by the control logic.
Initial Actions
• Check that the Tray 1 Lift Plate functions without binding.
• Ensure the Tray 1 is filled with 250 sheets of paper.
• Ensure paper is properly loaded in the Tray.
• Ensure the paper Tray is closed.
Procedure
Check that the actuator on the No Paper Sensor for Tray 1 functions properly. The Actuator is
good.
YN
Replace the Tray 1 No Paper Actuator (PL 3.1).
Enter diagnostic code [DI-60]. The display indicates a “1”.
YN
There is +5 VDC from J 101-3 to J 101-4.
YN
Go to Flag 1. Check the wires and connector PJ 101 from the No Paper Sensor to
the MCU PWB for and open circuit or a short circuit to ground. replace the MCU
PWB (PL 11.2). The wires are good.

Repair the wires.
Replace the No Paper Sensor (PL 4.3). If the problem continues, replace the MCU
PWB (PL 11.2).
Replace the MCU PWB (PL 11.2).
Go to Flag 1. Check the wires from the MCU PWB to the No Paper Sensor for an open or a
short circuit to ground. If the wires are good, replace the MCU PWB (PL 11.2).
