Initial Issue
007-706 Bypass Tray Empty RAP
The Control Logic has detected a Tray Empty Sensor Sensed (H) +5 VDC.
Initial Actions
• Load paper into the Bypass Tray.
• Check the Bypass Tray and ensure that the Tray Empty Actuator is present and functions
properly.
Procedure
Load paper into the Bypass Tray. Access the Digital Input (DI) Test from the Control Panel.
Enter code [DI-66]. Press the Enter button. The display indicates “0”.

Go to Flag 1. Check the wires for an open or a short circuit to ground. The wires are
good.

Repair the wires.
Check the Bypass tray and ensure that the Tray Empty Actuator is present and functions
properly. The Tray Empty Sensor Actuator is good.

Repair or replace the Tray Empty Actuator (PL 4.3).
Replace the Tray Empty Sensor (PL 4.3). If the problem continues, replace the MCU
PWB (PL 11.2).
Replace the MCU PWB (PL 11.2).
