Intended Use
The Starling system, with NIBP and SpO

functionalities, is intended for use within professional
healthcare facilities.
For details regarding indications for use, refer to Indications for Use on page 2-3.

Operational Use of the Starling Monitor
This guide describes the operation and use of the Starling Monitor and should be read before
using the system.
Note
It is recommended that this guide be kept in close proximity to the system at all times and that
the procedures for operation and safety precautions be reviewed periodically by system users.
Clinical Decisions
The practitioner is solely responsible for the clinical interpretation of data provided by the
Starling monitoring system.
All clinical decisions prior to and throughout the monitoring procedure shall be made by the
practitioner based upon all of the patient’s available clinical information and the practitioner's
professional opinion.
Any monitoring procedures performed using the Starling system must be carried out by a trained
person familiar with all system operating procedures. Personnel should complete a training
program prior to operating the Starling system.
Do not use this system if you have not been adequately trained in its use by Baxter International
Inc. personnel or by anyone authorized by Baxter International Inc.
