Dynamic Assessment Tests - Troubleshooting
Several errors may occur while running a Dynamic Assessment Test (PLR or Fluid Bolus). You
may need to restart the protocol, or troubleshoot the error in accordance with the displayed
on-screen error message showing the corrective action required.
The reasons for which Protocol errors may persist are outlined in Table A-2.

Message Reason or Cause Solution
Unable to perform the Dynamic
Assessment due to poor signal
quality.
Reason:
Either
Starling Sensors or Starling
Patient Cable are not properly
connected.
Or
Patient movement during the
measurement process.
1. Check Starling Sensors are properly
attached to patient’s body. See Attaching
Starling Sensors on page 5-6.
2. Explain to the patient again the need to keep
still during the Test.
3. Tap
Restart to commence the Test again.
Baseline showed unstable
results.
Reason:
Patient is hemodynamically
unstable.
Or
Patient is being stimulated or
moved.
Or
There is slight signal
interference.
Proceed with one of the following
(as preferred):
Tap Restart to restart the Baseline
measurement.
Tap Cancel to abort the Test.
Tap Next to continue the Dynamic Assessment
Test anyway.
