Table A-4 Starling System Troubleshooting - Miscellaneous Issues
Issue Reason or Cause Solution
One or more channels is
not displayed correctly.
Cause:
Either
Starling Sensors are not
properly connected.
Or
Patient movement during the
measurement process.
Check the Starling Patient Cable at both ends for
loose connections. Ensure it is properly connected
to the Starling Sensor leads and the Starling
Monitor, respectively. Refer to:
Connecting the Sensors to the Starling Patient
Cable on page 5-9.
Connecting the Starling Patient Cable on
page 4-10.
The screen remains black
after starting the system
(does not start).
Cause:
Battery discharged or damaged,
or a fuse is blown.
1. Connect the Starling Monitor to a mains power
wall outlet to recharge the batteries. Then,
perform the System Startup procedure. See
Turning ON Power to the Monitor on page 4-8.
2. If the problem persists, proceed as follows:
a. Disconnect the Monitor from the mains
power.
b. Open the fuse compartment and check the
fuses. Replace any blown fuse, as described
in the Fuse Replacement Procedure on
page 6-10.
a. Reconnect the Monitor to the mains power
and perform the System Startup procedure.
