Possible Sensor, Cable and
Connectivity Error
Note: this message displayed
together with message below.
Cause:
Starling Patient Cable or one or
more of the Starling Sensors
are not connected properly to
the Starling Monitor, or to the
patient.
1. Check Starling Sensors are properly
attached to patient’s body. See Attaching
Starling Sensors on page 5-6.
2. Check Starling Sensor leads are properly
connected to Starling Patient Cable. See
Connecting the Sensors to the Starling
Patient Cable on page 5-9.
3. Check Starling Patient Cable is properly
connected to patient cable socket on the side
of the Monitor - see Figure 4-7 on page 4-10.
Note: Sometimes early Sensor replacement is
necessary - especially if the Sensors are wet or
if the underlying skin is hairy.
4. If the problem persists, Stop the Monitoring
Session, then:
a. replace any Sensors for which attachment
is less than optimal.
b. Start a new Monitoring Session.
5. If the problem still persists, replace the
Starling Patient Cable (if available), then try

Poor Signal
Reason:
Disconnection between the
Monitor and the patient’s body.
This results in a low-amplitude
ECG signal and sub-optimal
Bioreactance signal.
