Error Messages
Check Left Sensor, Cable or
Connectivity
or
Check Right Sensor, Cable or
Connectivity
Note: these messages displayed
together with message below.
Cause:
Starling Patient Cable or one or
more of the Starling Sensors
are not connected properly to
the Starling Monitor, or to the
patient.
Possible malfunction of the
device.
1. Check Left or Right Starling Sensors (in
accordance with message) are properly
attached to patient’s body. See Attaching
Starling Sensors on page 5-6.
2. Check Starling Sensor leads are properly
connected to Starling Patient Cable. See
Connecting the Sensors to the Starling
Patient Cable on page 5-9.
3. Check Starling Patient Cable is properly
connected to patient cable socket on the
side of the Monitor - see Figure 4-7 on
page 4-10.
Note: Sometimes early Sensor replacement is
warranted - especially if the Sensors are wet or
if the underlying skin is hairy.
4. If the problem persists, Stop the Monitoring
Session, then:
a. Replace the Starling Sensors.
b. Start a new Monitoring Session.
5. If the problem still persists, replace the
Starling Patient Cable (if available), then try
again.
6. If the problem still persists, connect to
another Starling Monitor (if available).

Poor Signal Reason:
Disconnection between the
Monitor and the patient’s body.
This results in a sub-optimal
Bioreactance signal.
