added. This is a required field and the date must be entered in the format MM/DD/YY,
DD/MM/YY or YY/MM/DD depending on the selected date format in setup (Refer to
CHAPTER 4: GENERAL SETUP, SECTION: FIRST TIME STARTUP).
Select Isotope
The Select Isotope drop-down list box contains the isotopes that can be measured.
This is a required field and must be set. The isotopes are: Cs137, Co60, I131 and
Ir192.
Screening Level
The Screening Level is an optional entry. If a measurement is greater than the
specified screening level, it will be marked as ABOVE SCREENING LEVEL” (in Red
text). If the measurement is less than the specified screening level, it will be marked
as “BELOW SCREENING LEVEL” (in Green text). If the Screening Level text box is
left blank, the measurement will not be marked. Screening level is entered as µCi
intake or MBq intake.
Counting Parameters Frame
Counting Time
The Counting Time is the duration for counting, in seconds, for each measurement.
The default counting time is 60 seconds. All counting time is Live Time. This is a
required field and the input value must be between 10 and 9999 seconds.
Probe Distance
Probe Distance is the distance of the probe from the body. The default is 0 cm. This
value is only used to prompt the user to perform the measurement. The input value
must be between 0 and 50 cm.
Repetitions Frame
The Repetitions frame allows the user to select either one or two repetitions for each
measurement. For two repetitions, the average value of both measurements is used
in the calculations. The second repetition may be skipped during the measurement
procedure, if so desired. The default is one repetition.
Note: The user can change the default value at any time as required.
1. To input new values in any frame, click the appropriate text box or radio button or use the
Tab key to move from one selection to another.
2. Click the button to save changes or click the button to discard the
changes and return to Figure 9-3 Absorbed Dose ALERT Main Screen.
QUICK TIP:
To return to previous screen without saving changes press the ESC key.
