2. Safety
2.2 Important safety instructions
To prevent risk, personal inj ury and E2 damage
Please read this chapter carefully. It includes several cautions to prevent dam age to the E2. Ensure that you understand and follow
all safety guidelines, safety instructions and warnings mentioned in this chapter before installing the E2. After th is chapter, a dditional
“warnings” and “cautions” are given depending on the installation procedure. Read and follow these “w arnings” an d “cautions” as
well.
Read and follow all installation and operation instructions.
Only trained technicians may install the E2.
Installation of the E2 mus t b e done in a dust free area.
Only use attachments/accessories specied by the manufacturer.
CAUTION: Troubleshooting m ust be performed by a trained technician. To reduce the risk of electrical shoc
k, do not attempt
to service this equipm ent unless you are qualied to do so.
Refer all servicing to qualied service personnel. Servicing is required when the system has been damaged in any way, such
as liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the sy ste m, or the system has been exposed to rain or m oisture, does not
operate normally, or has been dropped.
FRAGILE: The E2 is fragile. Handle the E2 with care at all times.
To prevent injury, m inimum 2 persons are required to c arry the E2.
Do not remove any covers or panels during normal operation. Remov al any of these items will expos e sensitive electronic
circuits and the un it may be damaged.
During maintenance operations, alway s switch off the E2 and unplug power cords before removing one of the covers.
Always wear a wrist band wh ich is connec ted to the ground while handling the ESD sensitive parts.
Wear insulating gloves during t he execution o f the installation and m ainte nance actions to avoid short-circuit.
Be careful n ever to drop anything into the E 2 assembly during the service procedures.
Be care ful to always follow the procedures dur ing maintenance opera tions (spare parts replacement).
This product is intended to operate from a power source that will not apply more than 230 volts rms between th e supply con-
ductors or be tween both supply conductor and ground. A protective ground connection by way of grounding cond uctor in the
power cord is essential for safe operation.
This product is grounded through the grounding conductor of the power c ord. To avoid e lectrical shock, plug the power cord
into a properly wired receptacle before connecting to the product input or output terminals. A protective-ground connection by
way of the grounding conductor in the power c ord is essential for safe operation. For 110V installations the power supply cord
should be rated at 13am ps. For 220V installations the power sup ply cord s hould be rated 1 0amps.
Use only the power cord an d connector specied for your product. Use only a power cord
that is in good condition. Refer co rd
and connector ch anges to qualied service personnel.
Replace spare parts only with the same parts supplied by Barco.
Save the original s hipping carton and packing material. They will come in handy if y ou ever have to ship your equipm ent. For
maximum protection, repack your set as it was originally packed at the factory.
