This chapter de scribes how to s ervice the E2 by replac ing individual com ponents.
Simple se rvicing
E2 is based on a modular design that ensures easy serviceability. Users can swap most of the E2 components in the case of
damage, without shiping the unit to a Barco service center.
Methodology
Most procedures in these chapters include multiple steps to gain access to the parts requiring s erv
ice. A workflow flow chart is pr o-
vided next indicating all of the procedures and their relationships. Please r efer to the chart to familiarize yourself with the sequence
of proc edures.
ESD recommendations
The following precautions must be taken:
• Perform the Service procedures only at ap proved anti-static work station equipped with anti- static mat.
• At all times use a conductive wrist strap attached to a solid earth ground.
• Always discharge yo urself by touching a grounded bare metal surface before coming in contact with ES D s ensitive electronic.
WARNING: Always switch power off and unplug the cords from E2 before performing any maintena nce o p-
erations described in this chapter.
WARNING: E2 can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD). When handling E2 and any o f its co mp o-
nents, caution must be taken so that damage does not occur. Damage due to inappropriate handling is not
covered by the warranty.
