Checking the tooth edge clearance of the
idler gear (A-bank)
z Mount magnetic measuring stand.
z Insert dial gauge.
z Turn idler gear in direction of arrow until it stops.
z Apply stylus under pre-tension to a tooth flank.
z Adjust dial gauge to "0".

z Turn idler gear in direction of arrow until it stops.
z Read off measured value.

z Remove magnetic measuring stand.
z Remove dial gauge.
Repeat the measuring process on several
tooth flanks.

z Position the injection pump camshaft.
The locating hole (arrow) faces upwards.
