z Measure beginning of stroke, dimension (a).
z Note measured value, dimension (a).

z Heat up the thermostat in the water bath.
z Determine beginning of opening.

In order to determine the exact beginning
of opening, the temperature should be
measured as close as possible to the ther-
mostat.
Do not touch the thermostat.
The water should be continuously stirred
for an even temperature distribution. The
temperature rise should not take place
faster than 1°C/min. Otherwise the begin-
ning of opening will be delayed accordin-
gly.
